Description Mary Ellen Foster 2009-01-11 21:00:07 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I normally run KDE in dual-display mode (using xrandr commands in the xorg.conf) and have set up some plasmoids on the second display. If I run KDE once in single-screen mode (i.e., without the second monitor connected), all of the plasmoids on the second display are gone when I next run in two-display mode.

Note: According to the plasma widget manager, it still *thinks* those widgets exist, but they don't appear on the screen.

zoom out. all the way out.
see them now? :)

the real bug here is why the activity that used to be associated with the second screen isn't re-associated with it when that screen reappears...

please post your plasma-appletsrc file and ote what version of KDE you are using.

At first I had the same problem. The plasmoids were disapering of my secondary screen.

My main screen is right of my secondary screen. So normaly one would drag the plasmoid from right to left to place the plasmoid on the secondary screen. However if you drag de plasmoid in the opposite direction (from left to right) the plasmoid appears on the secondary screen. Somehow the positions of the screens is different for plasmoids

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 with kde 4.1.4 from the proposed repository.

oh, kde 4.1. yeah, known issues there. upgrade 4.2 or 4.3 and see if that fixes things (it should).

if it doesn't, re-open this report, but i'm 99% sure this was squashed sometime in 4.2
