Version: (using Devel) OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources In details view when there is a dotted line around a folder and it's the only folder that starts with a particular character, you can't type to select the folder that has the dotted line without first selecting something else. Example. In my home folder I have: /downloads /files /music /src I open the "src" folder then go back (either with backspace key or back arrow). Now the "src" folder has a dotted line around it but is not highlighted. Now I type "src" to try to select it, it will not highlight it. I can also do this by clicking on "src" then clicking on whitespace to clear the highlight, but it now has a dotted line and I can't type to select it. Note: If there is another folder that starts with an "s" it will work because it goes to that folder when you start typing then back to "src" as you finish. Also this does work just fine in Icons view and Columns view.
Here using: Qt: 4.4.3 + qt-copy-patches-889120 KDE: 4.2.60 (KDE 4.2.60 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090106)) kdelibs svn rev. 908746 / kdebase svn rev. 908746 on ArchLinux x86_64 - Kernel 2.6.27.10 I can confirm this behaviour
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
I can't reproduce this bug with Dolphin 2.2.60 / KDE 4.11 Beta 1
Thanks Emmanuel, I can confirm that this works now (and probably it does work since the view engine rewrite in Dolphin 2.0/KDE 4.8).
