Version: 4.1.85 (using Devel) Compiler: gcc 4.3.2 x64 OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled sources I have an ipaq pda. Becasue there is no kde4 software from the synce project yet, i opted to use the gnome tray applet synce-trayicon. The applet runs on login, and all seems ok. I then plug in my ipaq, and the applet pops up a message saying it has been connected. Shortly after, plasma starts to take 100% cpu, and i have to be quick to kill it. The same also happens in another order. This time, the ipaq is connected, plasma is running but not synce-trayicon. I then run synce-trayicon, and it pops up a message saying the ipaq is connected. This time, plasma runs ok, until i unplug the pda, at which point i get a message from the applet saying it was disconnected, and plasma starts to take up 100% cpu. Options for surviving a reboot are: 1. Be quick and get to konsole to kill plasma 2. If 1 fails, alt-sysreq-r alt-f1, login and kill plasma 3. If 2 fails, hard reboot :(
Sorry, im wrong to blame synce-trayicon as the problem also occurs when it isnt running, and the ipaq is (un)plugged. Could possibly be network related, see the attached output from strace.
Created attachment 29909 [details] Strace output when ipaq is plugged in
find me on irc and i'll start feeding you patches to experiment with =) it'll be faster if we do this one in "real time".. basically we need to start putting some output in the x11embed* classes and see where we are going around and around...
Any news on this ?
