Version: 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2) (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Debian packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686 Recreate 1) Download file foo 2) Download file foo once again 3) Observe that you can overwrite or cancel. You can't rename the target file.
are you using the kget integration?
No.
In kde 4.2.91, when I try to save a file that already exists a message saying "File Already Exists" showing info about the old file, the new file and a button to suggest a new file name for the incoming file. Please, close this bug report if it works for you with a recent KDE (perhaps KDE 4.3.0 beta 2?).
I am not sure if you reproduced this exactly as per the above steps. I will test this once 4.3.0 releases. Realistically, I will not have the time to bake my own from source.
I can confirm this. I reproduced this by: 1) Right click on any link in this bug report 2) "Save Link As ..." 3) Repeat 1) and 2) 4) A dialog appears "A file named "show_bug.cgi" already exists. Are you sure you want to overwrite it? [Overwrite] [Cancel]" It doesnt ask whether a new file name should be suggested. However, clicking cancel will bring you back to the file selection dialog, where a new filename can be given there. Personally, I don't consider this a bug. Tested with Konqueror svn 983852.
Thanks for testing this. Personally, I consider this to be a bug.
Cannot reporduce in KDE 4.7.4 by following the steps in comment #5. Feel free to reopen if that is not the case for you.
