Description richlv 2008-12-15 11:50:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.10)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Slackware Packages

using two monitors as twinview. monitor 1 is to the right of monitor 2.
in kcontrol multiple monitor, all options are selected.
"show unmanaged windows on" is set to display 1.
despite this, occasionally windows are opened on the second monitor (even with both mouse & active app being on the first).
this might be similar to bug 135039, but that one is supposed to be resolved long time ago.

this has been observed with popups from java applications and oo.org.

Can you test with KDE 4.2? KWin 3.5 is unmaintained.
Comment 2 richlv 2008-12-15 11:54:36 UTC
unfortunately, no - slackware packages for 4.x replace 3.x packages, and i wouldn't want to break my work system :)

is kde3 really unmaintained ? i got an impression that a bug here or there still might get fixed...

KDE 3.5 as a whole is not unmaintained, but KWin 3.5 is as the only people that can understand it are bogged down with higher priority KDE 4 bugs.

Hi! Is this bug still reproducible with KDE 4.5?
Comment 5 richlv 2011-03-14 21:43:20 UTC
let's close this, i haven't used kde4 with multiple monitors for extended period of time to be sure whether this is still there
