Version: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3), Gentoo) Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-tuxonice-r4 Most of the time when I want to enter text in a text area in Konqueror (such as this one), the component reacts extremely slowly to input when I type. This is independent of whether spell checking is enabled. Sometimes it's even so slow that the order of typed characters is mixed up. Just in case it might be related to KDE's well-known problems with the NVidia drivers: I'm using the NVidia binary drivers in version 177.80.
Could you try using the new nvidia beta drivers 180.16 and KDE 4.2 beta2?

OK, couldn't reproduce this with KDE 4.3 (and NVidia 180.60) either.
