Description George Kiagiadakis 2008-10-26 22:07:38 UTC
Version: 2.0-beta2 (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Steps to reproduce:
1) Get attachment 24334 [details] (a simple html document) from bug 160855 and save it somewhere.
2) Open kword, go to file->import and try to open this html document
kword fails to show it and displays a messagebox saying "Failed to open blah blah.. Reason: internal error"
Comment 1 George Kiagiadakis 2008-10-28 12:06:14 UTC
One more related bug:
Open kword, select open document and try to open this html file. It will show the same error message. Then select to create a blank document. Notice that in the new document, the title is set to the filename of the html file that it couldn't open.

Same problem with a file test.htm containing only
<html><body>test</body></html>
Comment 3 Thorsten Staerk 2008-12-29 10:06:29 UTC
This is very annoying as I use kword for a lot of html writing during work. And it has always worked with the old koffice, so this is a regression bug.
Comment 4 Thorsten Staerk 2008-12-29 10:07:53 UTC
Still valid for today's kword (2.0-beta4).

Thank you for your bug report or feature suggestion.

The "KOffice" application suite is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed.

We recommend to switch to the "Calligra" application suite, which has replacements for all unmaintained KOffice applications:

- KWord was replaced with Calligra Words
- KPlato was replaced with Calligra Plan

For more information, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calligra_Suite
