Version: 2.0 beta-2 (using 4.1.71 (KDE 4.1.71 (KDE 4.2 >= 20081023)), compiled sources) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25.7quechua-0.1intelquechua-0.1intel As some files can take a while to load (eg. Postscript files), it would be great to have some visual feedback to tell the user that the file is currently being loaded/converted. I know that making it a progressbar is probably not possible but it would be nice to have something to tell me that Krita is doing something instead of having to rely on my CPU fan getting noisier. As there sometimes seem to be problems with some image formats that need external applications to load it would be great to have a "Cancel" button on the feedback so I can decide to abort if it doesn't work.
We used to have that in 1.x, but we broke the progress bar in the statusbar: that used to have a cancel button, too. It should be re-instated, indeed.
We never had progress bar reporting for loading/saving file. It's also impossible to cancel right now. But that something to keep in mind for 2.1. Since it's a limitation in KOffice filters architecture, I reassign the bug to the KOffice product.
Krita's progress bar is broken on loading, but words, sheets and stage work now. So move the bug back to us.
only in krita: filters are not filters :-)
WISHGROUP: Larger Usability Fixes
The basic code is present, now only all the filters need emit progress signals.
There is a progress bar on the bottom now, and if you open it as the first file, the Welcome Page is greyed out. Maybe it's enough now?
