Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages After an online update, my old distribution lists are no longer visible in the distribution list editor, though I can create new ones. The View menu item for the distribution list editor says "Distribution List Editor NG". If I look in file /home/user/.kde/share/apps/kabc/distlists I can see my old lists but not any newly created... I should have filed under "kde 3.5.10" but bugs.kde.org does not allow that, see separate bug.
I just run into the same bug. This is a pretty severe regression if you let me quote the announcement: "For users of KDE 3.5.9 it should be low-risk to upgrade to KDE 3.5.10 since the rules of what is to enter the KDE 3.5 branch are pretty strict at that point, it's in maintenance only mode."
Hej, there is a tool now in 3.5 branch, which will upgrade the distribution lists to the new format automatically. Please bug your distributor to provide updated patches soon. Ciao, Tobias
Shouldn't there also be a tool like that in KDE 4.x?
Created attachment 27889 [details] kdepim-4.1.2-kabcdistlistupdater.patch Here's a KDE 4 port of the converter, which I just added to the Fedora Rawhide kdepim package. Can this please be added to the upstream kdepim? This issue affects kdepim 4.x just as it affects 3.5.10.
Hej Kevin, commited it to trunk now, thank your very much for the patch! Ciao, Tobias
The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
