Description Milan Krivda 2008-08-23 22:09:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

With kwin compositing and minimize/maximize effect enabled i have low fps by minimizing/maximizing windows, but ONLY with one visible window per desktop. If are two or more windows visible on desktop minimize/maximize animation is performing good. This is independent on windows content.

With a radeon 300, using KDE SC 4.6 development, I see no difference when there are one or several windows.
Can you still see the difference with a more recent KDE SC version (4.5.2 or later)?
If you can, what kind of graphic card do you use and which driver uses the X server (free or closed source in case of ATI/nVidia)?

also what's the "maximizing" effect supposed to be?
is the minimize effect the "minimize" effect or rather eg. "magic lamp"?
