Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Sound on my laptop was working fine with OpenSUSE 11.0 running under KDE4. After upgrading to 4.1, on every boot I now get an error message saying that Phonon detects a nonfunctional Conexant (Intel) High Definition Audio chip is nonufunctional and so it will load a generic driver. The startup and shutdown sounds now do not work, although Amarok and several other sound applications seem to be working fine for the most part, although this morning I had the sound totally die on me in the midst of watching a short video file. I finally had to reboot the system to get the sound back again. The primary problem is more annoying than anything else, although I have not yet checked on other applications to see if they might still work. Thanks!
Have you experienced this bug again with a recent KDE version? (4.1.3 / 4.2beta2 / 4.2svn) ? Thanks :)
I think this was Pulseaudio interfering. Obsolete, closing, not a phonon bug. Also no feedback from the user since several months.
