Version: (using KDE 4.1.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages * Search box needs a clear button (the little black x arrow thing) * Action icon buttons (Make Favorite and Remove) need tooltips to help users discover what their intended functionality is * The Remove function is contextual while the Add function is global. The context of both actions should match. Either add a contextual Add function or add a global Remove function. (I recommend contextual in my screenshot, but a global Remove button could also be added at the bottom of the dialog) See soon to be attached screenshot of possible design fix Note: Not the same as bugs 164045 and 154489
Created attachment 26488 [details] Mockup of some Add Widgets design changes.
Tooltip suggestions: Favorite: "Mark $WIDGET as a favorite widget." Add: "Add $WIDGET to your Desktop." Remove: "Remove all $WIDGETs from your Desktop."
The search box actually has a clear button. It only appears if there is any content in the line edit field. Thats seem to be the same behaviour as in all KDE search box fields.
In kde 4.2.70, Are the tooltips the only missing part of this bug?
This bug is no longer valid, the dialog has been substituted by the widget explorer which doesn't manage removing of plasmoids and setting them as favorite, but you can clear the filter bar.
