Description Gastón M. Tonietti 2008-07-10 19:55:05 UTC
Version: 1.2.50 (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

It should be nice to have a button in the toolbar to toggle show All/Unread articles, some times new articles are not inserted in the top of the list, so you need to scroll down to see it, it is very uncomfortable for me.

Despite that it is more a configuration option than a filter aspect for me, it could be addressed in KDE 3.5 using the quick filter status combo-box plus the option "Reset search bar when changing feeds" unchecked, but this option is missing from KDE 4.1. So every time I change the feed I must adjust the filter again in order to get read articles filtered out.

yes, I have same problem. I must adjust the filter agian and again...
could you add a option in agregator options for filter.

"show only unread articles"

thanks,
best regards.

I would love to have this option as a checbox in Akregator menu > View. "Show only updated feeds" or something.

I have a lot of interesting feeds which are updated only occasionally and this option would be very useful. Also I see huge demand for it at bugzilla:

Bug 117788 - "option to show only unread topics by default shuold be persistent"
Bug 104277 - "hide feeds with no new articles "
I suggest merging above bugzilla submissions with this one.

This function is working for me in KDE 4.2.1 by default, the status of the filter selector remains 'unread' while you're changing feeds, so this bug might be set resolved.

This bug is not about hiding feeds but about hiding articles.

This is possible again in akregator from KDE4. The status filter is not reset when choosing another feed.

I was using Liferea http://lzone.de/liferea/ the recent years and it has this feature to only display unread articles in a *folder*. Very handy. So I have all my feeds grouped and just clicking the folder only shows me the unread ones.

And the guys are right - for feeds with quite an amount of new articles there are (for what reason ever) new articles popping up up inbetween the timeline. Maybe someone created a publish date for the past or he/she started writing that article hours earlier. You never know. So another option would be to have the unread articles on top.
