Version:           0.9.4-beta5 (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler:          gcc version 4.2.3 (Debian 4.2.3-5) 
OS:                Linux

when editor asks whether do assign or convert to the working color space, "convert" has exaclty the same effect as "assign", although the preview was correct. choosing "do nothing" and then convert via Color>Colour Management works. screenshot:

Code has essentially been rewritten. I am pretty confident that it now does what it says. Fixes will be available from 1.0-beta4 on.
