Version: 3.5.9 (using 3.5.9, Debian Package 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-2+b1 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-2.6.24.4.slh.7-sidux-686 When I leftclick on an attached file in a phpBB/PNphpBB2 forum posting konqueror does not show its usual download dialog but instead just loads the file in a new tab in hex view. The shown address is some .html file (though the file e.g. is a zip file). When I leftclick the same link with e.g. firefox the download dialog opens and the file (zip, tar.gz or whatsoever) is downloaded correctly. Konqueror too downloads the file correctly when you rightclick (save as) but the name of the file is that html-address so you always have to rename the downloaded file with its actual file extension. It does seem to me as if konqueror is not able to recognize some kind of redirection. http://sidux.com/modules/PNphpBB2/files/beispiel_842.png shows a .tar file - I cannot give a link example because in the forums I know those attachements are only visible for registered users.
What's interesting here isn't the data it sends but the HTTP headers produced by the server, in particular content-type and content-disposition.. You could find out with e.g. wireshark (but if you do, please be careful to include only the data sent by the server, not yours, as that would include your login cookie, and this is public)
can't reproduce in svn r815560 (~4.1-beta). created a sidux forum account and downloaded 4 files successfully. should be enough proof ;)
Closing this bug: worksforme :)
