Version: (using KDE 4.0.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs I've got an onboard Intel HDA soundcard (Codec: Analog Devices AD1988B) with 6 channel analog, stereo headphone jack, optical and Cinch digital out. Phonon lists the 6 channel analog output, but no other port. When playing some audio with phonon, the 6 channel analog port is used. It would be really nice to be able to use the optical out, too as I've connected my surroundsystem to it. There's some strange behaviour with phonon, too. When playback with non-Phonon apps (e.g. Xine, mpg123, etc) is running and Phonon starts to play as well, sound output on optical out is disabled and I have to stop ALSA, delete the asound.state and restart ALSA to get sound on optical out again. Restarting ALSA or even the Computer doesn't help with this. Phonon seems to trigger some settings in the mixer that isn't available to user interfaces as kmix or alsamixer. I guess the playback/mute-bug has the same source as the problem listing all available outports. Thats why I mentioned it here. If it is a different bug, I'd open a seperate bugreport.
Do you still have this problem? Digital Out normally gets listed (when you check "Advanced Devices"). You might also be interested in looking at the user docs at phonon.kde.org (once it works again)
should this bug be "wating for info"?
Yeah, pretty much.
Closing for lack of feedback. Most likely fixed since quite some time.
