Description CharlieB 2008-02-26 21:05:13 UTC
Version: 3.5.8 (using 3.5.8, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu3.3)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic

When the latest automatic fixes are applied, Konqueror will die when I click on a pdf file to display it. Once it died it will not restart. These fixes are the latest automatic ones that come from adept via the icon in the lower right hand corner of my screen. The fixes are language-pack-en, language-pack-en-base, language-pack-kde-en and language-pack-kde-en-base. I know for sure these are the culprit since I have restored and reproduced the failure by just applying these fixes and then going to Konqueror and trying to display the pdf. Luckily I had a good very up to date backup of my system. :-)

The first time I got this error I rebooted and then couldn't get any further than the login screen. When I entered my password and tried to log in I would get "Could not start ksmserver"!

Kubuntu bug, upgrade and if you still have it, report it on their bugtracker.
Thanks!
