Description Sean Bruno 2008-02-26 05:40:35 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

Using Fedora 8, I am running Amarok to listen and tag my MP3 files.

If I select multiple files and attempt to tag them with MusicBrainz, I experience a pop up dialog box on occasion that indicates a crash in libmusicbrainz:

Tunepimp (MusicBrainz tagging library) returned the following
error: "Cannot decode file. (Decoder crashed)".

I can tag other files after this crash, but the file that caused the crash cannot be tagged via this method without restarting Amarok.

I have reported this issue to the Redhat/Fedora team under https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=337061 and am forwarding it to you as per their request.

This may be an x86_64 only issue.

confirmed, I can reproduce this too fairly reliably.
Comment 2 Marc Adler 2008-03-22 23:34:45 UTC
I can confirm this one to. System ist Ubuntu Gutsy amd64.
Comment 3 quazgar 2008-05-17 13:32:24 UTC
Same here, on a Gentoo stable system, also amd64.

KDE 3.5.8
Amarok 1.4.8
musicbrainz libraries 2.1.4
tunepimp libs 0.5.3

Sorry, I don't see how this could be an Amarok issue. It seems like this would rather be a libtunepimp bug?
Comment 5 Rudolf Meijering 2008-05-28 21:13:31 UTC
I'm having this same problem on ubuntu 8.04 on x86_64 so it seems like it's not fedora specific.
Comment 6 Yuri Karpov 2008-05-29 12:41:01 UTC
Same problem confirmed on OpenSuse 10.3
Comment 7 Seb Ruiz 2008-10-29 05:11:29 UTC
Musicbrainz has been removed for amarok 2 in preparation for a better solution.
