Description dmoyne 2008-02-24 13:30:20 UTC
Version: 3.5.8 (using 3.5.8, Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu3.3)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.22-14-generic

I am not sure this a bug but as Konqueror behaved differentlty now I want to make sure ; when using a file download feature attached to a web site now rather than asking for a location to save the the data file (phtml format) reequested it is automatically opened in kate ; the format proposed now compared to the data file format proposed before has changed from *.txt to *.phtml but this does not explain why Konqueror behaved like this ; in Mozilla / Firefox / Swiftfox if not mistaken there is a possibility to set user choice in Preferences but this is not included in Konqueror as far as I know or this maybe managed undirectly by another KDE application ; why this is not included in Konqueror settings or at least remembered by a link to the involved feature.
Thanks

The handling of known mime-type answers by the web server is configured in the file associations configuration window. In that window you can choose what to do with the file that konqueror receives.

Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams:
This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore.
If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report.
Thank you for your understanding.
