Version: (using KDE 4.0.0) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc 4.1.2 x86-64 OS: Linux Ctrl-L (to clear the location bar) is deactivated when the suggested urls list is present. Since by default it suggests "http://www.whatever" for "whatever" this includes any time a url is being typed. Presumably the combo becomes the active window and hasn't been told how to respond to Ctrl-L, but I'm not sure how you'd go about adding that sensibly. I'm not sure how friendly KonqMainWindow and KonqCombo should be.
Confirmed: while typing on the address bar, CTRL+L doesn't work :-(
Tested on revision 762662.
SVN commit 765098 by ppenz: allow opening directories/trash from the desktop BUG: 156192 M +1 -1 dolphin.desktop WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=765098
Ah, sorry - the last commit contained a typo: I've fixed 156193, not 156192... I've reopened this bug.
I have noticed that simply typing the 'esc' when the dropdown menu is there allows you to use "CTRL+L" to clear the URL in the address bar. --Foureyes779
Ctrl+L still does not close the completion window and clear the url in svn trunk r882080.

It is a bit strange: CTRL+L closes the completition window and clears the URI on some tabs, but sometimes it doesn't. I'm not able to find a common pattern to reproduce it.
Same here.
I can't reproduce this in Konqueror 4.5.4; Ctrl+L works all the time. Can anyone confirm still the behaviour of comment 8 by FiNeX? If not, this report can be closed, I think.
I can not reproduce this in konqueror 4.6 rc2 also. Another positive check and this bug must be closed.
Would you like to wait for 4.6 so I will check it again? Thanks :-)
Ok. I've tested with KDE 4.6 and now it is ok. Thanks.
