Version: 4.00.00 (KDE 4.0.0) (using 4.00.00 (KDE 4.0.0), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic After many hours of use and being able to display a page properly, konqueror suddenly stopped parsing/handling CSS; even if the page has been displayed proprely several times. All Css definitions a completely ignored and the HTML is rendered flat. I don't know how it's related, but cookies stopped to be handled a the exact same time.
Indeed very odd. Restarting kded4 doesn't help, does it? Hmmm, what about if you: "killall kio_http"?

Once they are killed, they are restarted when I reload the corresponding web pages, but still no CSS, nor cookies handling.

Yes, kded4 restarts when done with the pappropriate UID. But, it doesn't seem ti have any effects. I'm about to follow your recommandations about the kdebugdialog...

Well, after an apt-get upgrade this morning (sveral KDE packages...), I restarted the system and kded4 is still running. Last time, it took ~24 hours of normal use before it failed. Let's wait.
Do you still see this bug happening in a more recent kde? Recently I've never been able to use konqueror 24h without a restart, trying to reproduce its bugs.
Daniel said in mail (please, use bugs.kde.org to replay in the future) I never experienced this problem since a long time. I think it's gone and was related to random death of kded4 back in KDE 4.0.*. Was it related to the installation of early KDE4 applications while some KDE3 were still runing ? Maybe... But kded4 doesn't dies anymore :-) Thanks for watching dc
