Description A. Spehr 2008-01-10 07:48:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 4.2.3
OS: Linux

"There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueor with application/x-webarchive, but it cannot handle this file type." is what shows up in an error box when I try to click on a .war file in Konqueror. Perhaps there are other exotic mimetypes that make it unhappy?

I have this error as well with the latest trunk (I've always had this problem with KDE 4)

I have extragears compiled and installed. I can also create them still but cannot open them.

This is frustrating because I have a lot of information stored this way.

Confirmed in trunk. (svn rev. 815196)

In the file association tool, konqueror appears in the list for .war files while it doesn't seem able to handle such mimetype.

Will this be is beta 3?

Yes with respect to next pre-release (I think it's RC1, but no matter), but you don't need to wait this long --- it just changes one .protocol file, which you could install right now.

grab:
http://websvn.kde.org/*checkout*/trunk/KDE/kdebase/runtime/kioslave/archive/tar.protocol?revision=824486&pathrev=824486

and save it as share/kde4/services/tar.protocol under your root KDE install directory (there should be a tar.protocol there already to overwrite)
