Description Frits Spieker 2008-01-05 09:18:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

whilst browsing a directory which contains mp3 files (can be only mp3 but also mixed with other sound files like flac and ogg), the metadata on the mp3 files does not show. As a result, in the "info view" mode of konqueror, the mp3 files only show their size.
When hovering the mouse over a mp3 file, only it's basic properties show up (date, size etc.) but not the Artist, Title etc. that shows up whilst hovering over any other sound file. All mp3 files have the metadata in them as it does show up in programs like Amarok, XMMS etc.

A *very* annoying bug, unless this was done by the OpenSuse-people on purpose of course to annoy the hell out of their users ;-).

Cheers!

Just tried KDE 3.5.8 (archlinux) and the "info view" show:
- artist
- title
- album name
- track number
- genre
- bitrate

Any news on this? Should this be moved to KDE4? or marked as INVALID for no response?

After upgrading to 3.5.10 everything works ok. Must have been a local setting or a fluke. Also works OK in 4.1x. (Now on Opensuse 11.1, 64bits)
