Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Compiler: gcc 4.1.3 (shipped with Ubuntu 7.10) OS: Linux If you use the multicolumn view, listing the icons from top to bottom, long filenames are drawn incorrectly, leaving artifacts all over the window. To reproduce the bug, use the multicolumn view of Konqueror (or the small icons view of Dolphin, listed from top to bottom), navigate to a folder with lots of files/folders with long names, and scroll to the right. The fact that the bug happens identically in Konqueror and Dolphin indicates that it may lie in the QT libraries.
Created attachment 22293 [details] Dolphin exhibiting the buggy behavior. This is a demonstration of the bug in Dolphin; it looks exactly the same in Konqueror.

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. In KDE 4, Dolphin's KPart handles filemanagement for Konqueror and the multicolumn view there is named the "compact view". In the upcoming KDE 4.8 release I do not see the problem stated here. The column is always expanded to accomodate the size of the longest filename.
