Version: 1.4.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I was editing the artist and album tags for a collection of tracks that showed up in the Music tab of the context browser. Amarok froze, it continued to play tracks even after I chose to exit the application from the tray. I ended up having to kill it to get it to stop playing. After restarting the application I noticed that for the track that was currently playing it would show the same Artist and Album as before the crash. Restarted amarok a few times and the problem continues to show up whenever I edit the tag for a track. OS: Kubuntu Fiesty Fawn with all the updates as of 1400 GMT today.
Can you provide backtrace(s) of such this? Please read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports for more info.
Well I cannot get amarok to crash in the same way again, but ever since this has happened on my system, by default the values for artist and album are always the same as they were when it first crashed. I have restarted the machine a few times since then, but still behaves the same.
I've tried to get amarok to crash in the same manner a few more times, but have been unsuccessful. I however did find almost 80 unrelated tracks that had somehow been retagged with the Artist/Album that I was retagging when Amarok crashed.
Thank you for your report. Your lack of feedback makes me think that this was a one-time issue. marok 1.4.x is in bugfix-only mode as development is focused on Amarok 2. Please don't hesitate to report new bugs should you have any problems with Amarok 2 once it is released.
Sorry for not keeping up with this. I had a recurring issue with this even after I reinstalled amarok. The only thing common was that I had exported the records from the database on my old install of kubuntu & used it for the new install of amarok. I guess the database might have gotten corrupt, but I have no way of going back and figuring this out cuz I stopped using amarok with MySQL. Rowan
