Description Jonathan Cromwell 2000-11-08 15:58:13 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kppp
Version: 2.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake 7.2

My simple login script looks as follows:

expect "ogin:"
ID
expect "word:"
PASSWORD

It will work fine for a while but after several days my logins will suddenly start failing. If I go and edit my login script it appears as:

expect "ogin:"
ID
expect "word:"

It has somehow dropped the final PASSWORD command in my login script. This has happened to me 5 or 6 times now. Its no big deal (I just put it back) but its very weird. I've tried unsuccessfully to reproduce it on demand.

Too bad. The bug looks really scary but I can't reproduce it neither and
never heard somebody else reporting the same.

Harri.

I have noticed this bug many times. It occurred when I first started using kppp (about KDE 2.1) and later (in 2.2) I thought it had been fixed, but now again in 3.1 I am having this bug. It happens whenever I edit a configuration. Simply start kppp, edit the configuration, and look at the login script. The last command and the last parameter (ScriptArguments list and the ScriptCommands list) are missing from the editing window.

If you make any change so that the file is saved, you lose your last script command from the file.

The workaround I have always used is to edit kppprc by hand, but this is of course rather annoying.

Is this bug still present in a recent version of KDE, such as 3.5.8?
