Description Marcus Hardt 2007-08-13 10:43:48 UTC
Version: 1.9.7 (using KDE 3.5.7, Debian Package 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1 (lenny/sid))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.21.5-2

Very nice, that I can move whole folders from local to IMAP!

However, if the folder that I move contains illegal characters like the dot '.' there's trouble on the IMAP server.

I guess simply checking the name before actually moving would do the thing.

M.

By "trouble on the IMAP server, you don't mean that the folder gets renamed to "unnamed", do you?

No. If the folder abc.xyz gets moved to the imap server, xyz appears as a subfolder of abc. But for some reason abc is greyed out in kmail. Deleting first xyz then abc worked, however.

This might be related to the directory separator the server is using. I can't reproduce using Exchange, a Kolab2 server or gmail but none of those uses "." as path separator.

Can you still reproduce this with recent versions of KMail?

Alright, I found someone who could give me an account on a Courier server and I can reproduce this bug now.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
