Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2) OS: Linux If you go to http://www.wellsfargo.com for the first time, Konqueror behaves in a weird way: 1. Form widgets are not repainted correctly: combobox, username and password textfields, etc. 2. The textfield with "Enter Zip code ..." is painted twice, in different places. If you mouse over the bottom one, the cursor icon keeps changing really fast. 3. Menu items and tabs are not highlighted under mouse. 4. Konqueror uses a lot of CPU - at least, at first. If you refresh the page, it usually works fine. I tried to come up with a simpler test case. The problem seems to be caused by a flash object that takes a long time to load, combined with some harmless-looking styles on a few div tags.
Created attachment 21335 [details] A slightly simpler testcase
Not reproducable for me with KDE 3.5.8 without flash-plugin since there does not exist one for 64bit systems. So, an idea would be to try to reproduce the problem with flash disabled.
Hm, I just installed KDE 3.5.8, and it's working much better. Doesn't freeze anymore, etc. - only the issue #2 is still present. And yes, it was clearly related to flash - it was causing Konqueror to freeze. In my testcase, I put a flash object that never loads. The only problem is: I have flash disabled in Tools->HTML Settings! So it shouldn't be loading in the first place.
Anyway, if you open the testcase - with flash enabled - you still see weird behavior in KDE 3.5.8. The same textbox is displayed three times. Two instances are functional, and their text stays in sync; the third one doesn't get repainted.
Confirm (well, 2 copies). Quite odd, since that's actally one widget.
Seems to be resolved in trunk (r798735). The testcase works fine in 3.5.9, but wellsfargo.com does not, there's still 2 copies of the zip code textfield.
Kde 3 is no longer maintained and i can not reproduce with kde 4.8.
