Description Konstantin Verba 2007-07-22 17:23:00 UTC
Version: 3.5.7 (using KDE 3.5.7, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r2, HTB-3.4.4-1.00, ssp-3.4.6-1.0, pie-8.7.10)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-ck1.sympho

Try to load libthai dynamically...
Error, can't load libthai...
KCrash: Application 'konqueror' crashing...
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.
Comment 1 Tom E. Gundersen 2007-08-16 02:26:56 UTC
I get the same error in KDE4 (from today's svn).

To reproduce:

1) Make sure KDE was not compiled with HAS_LIBTHAI (or whatever it is (I don't have it in front of me))
2) Make sure libthai is not in $PATH (so it cannot be loaded...)
3) Go to eg. http://en.wikipedia.org/ (tries to load libthai and crashes if it fails)

It works fine here in KDE > 4.1 beta 1 (SVN trunk rev 817151). Can you confirm if it's still happening to you in any recent version of KDE 4? Test it with KDE 4.0.5 or KDE 4.1 when it's out.

@konstantin, @Tom: if you can reproduce the crash, you should install the debug enabled packages and provide the backtrace. Read this page for the instructions:

Comment 4 FiNeX 2008-09-25 13:59:04 UTC
Are you still able to reproduce this crash using KDE 4.1 or current trunk?
Comment 5 FiNeX 2008-11-14 22:25:25 UTC
I don't have libthai on my system, and konqueror doesn't crash loading this page:

I don't seem to have libthai installed, and it works for me, so closing.
