Description Buddhika Siddhisena 2007-06-29 12:24:36 UTC
Version: 1.4.6 (using KDE 3.5.7, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.21-gentoo-r3

This happens when I am downloading a podcast and if the link goes down or the connection to the server goes down. During this time, if I try to play the downloading podcast by double clicking on it, instead of streaming that podcast, it loads all the downloaded podcasts from the same RSS feed to the playlist and starts playing them.

After some time, if I for example shutdown Amarok and restart, Amarok now thinks that half downloaded podcast has been fully downloaded and doesnt offer me to redownload or resume. But double clicking on that podcast has the same effect as described above (loads multiple).

Now if I delete that one half downloaded podcast, it will actually delete that podcast as well as all the podcasts that were already downloaded for that RSS feed (the above playlist).

I was wondering how I was loosing so many podcasts, and whether Amarok had a limit or an expiration date for older podcasts. I just realiased it was this possible bug. I run the latest stable amarok 1.4.6 on KDE 3.5.7 on Gentoo.

I noticed this myself, will try to fix before the next release of stable-branch

Same behavior for me -- extremely frustrating. I wonder if this is more than one bug: (1) partially downloaded podcast episode cannot not be completed after interruption, and (2) deletion of partially downloaded podcast results in data loss (of remaining episodes). I'm using amaroK 1.4.6 on KDE 3.5.6 on Mandriva 2007.1.
