Description Pascal Hofmann 2007-06-01 10:31:26 UTC
Version: 1.4.5 (using KDE 3.5.6, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-gentoo-r7

Everytime I reboot, amarok forgets the entire collection. All settings are kept, I just always have to rescan the collection which takes several minutes (13405 songs). I'm using amarok together with mysql. The MySQL-Database seems ok when it happens: 42.233 records in 25 tables.

Probably Amarok is not shut down correctly, and thus amarokrc gets corrupted. Check if amarokrc contains the correct collection folders.

Thank you, I think this will fix my problem. My amarokrc:
----------- Schnipp -----------
[Collection]
Collection Folders=/data/mp3
----------- Schnapp -----------

But several weeks ago I moved my collection from /data/mp3 to /mnt/audio. I also changed this in amarok and rescanned the collection. /mnt/audio is also selected under settings -> configure amarok -> collection.

I changed my amarokrc by hand now...

I have a bug very similar with this one. Amarok 1.4.7 forgets its database folders at random (it happened to me 4 times in 3 weeks). It always happened after a clean Amarok shutdown. I cannot reproduce the bug by no means.
This is another bug or the bug was shut down prematurely.

I am also seeing this issue in Amarok 1.4.9.1 (KDE 3.5.9) (Ubuntu 8.04 package), using a MySQL database. My collection is on an NFS volume, which may make a difference, but so far I've had Amarok forget my collection at least 3 times since updating from Ubuntu 7.10, even when the last shutdown was clean. Sometimes the collection information is missing but the collection folders are still in amarokrc, other times (like the latest time) the collection folders have gone missing too, even though all my other settings are still intact. Doing a complete rescan on the collection takes a while (it's 59GB), and anything that plays before I realise Amarok dropped the ball again loses its old stats information and is replaced with data for the single play. Also, the moodbar files all end up being regenerated. This continues until after I rescan my collection and restart Amarok so that it picks up the old collection data again from the database.
