Version: 1.4.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux When playing from my large audio collection (~4180 tracks) off of my external USB HD, I find that after every few songs, a song is started but is then quickly skipped onto the next. This is quite annoying as you hear the start of the audio file and then it suddenly stops, and another track begins to play. I can see in the OSD the title appear then after about 1-2 seconds disappear. I am using xine as the engine, Amarok Ver 1.4.5, KDE 3.5.6 on a Gentoo System, using portage to install Amarok.
Please have a look if bug 137968 applies for you.
I have seen this report already. It says "dynamic mode has been drastically changed to provide much greater performance, so hopefully it should be resolved" but that was raised in Ver 1.4.4, and it is still visible in 1.4.5. Is there a possibility that the fix is not in 1.4.5 then? It sounds very similar though...I am using an external drive and on a slow computer.
This happens on my Amarok as well. The version I am using is 1.4.6 on Gentoo with xine-lib 1.1.8 as engine and KDE 3.5.7.
If you are using crossfading, make sure that the "Crossfade Duration" value isn't too small. With small crossfade times xine tends to skip.
What would "too small" be? I have it set on 1000ms. Besides, changing this value shouldn't be the solution, since the crossfading is supposed to work with any value, isn't it? If so, is there a bug filed for xine-lib on this? I searched but found nothing of the kind.
Well, go ahead.
Hi Arthur, Please leave a note on this bug if you do raise an issue with xine-lib (just so I can stay updated). Many thanks, Aaron
Done. I created a report on xine's bug tracker on sf.net. BugID 1811467. Link: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1811467&group_id=9655&atid=109655
So let's close this report.
