Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux I'm using SiteBar in a sidebar to access my server-side bookmarks and thus don't need the bookmark toolbar, so I disabled it and saved my web browsing profile. But whenever I switch to another tab, the bookmark toolbar appears, although I didn't ask for it. Perhaps this is related to bug 143915
After more testing (and a "can't confirm" in #kde@freenode) I found out that the sidebar seems to be somehow involved. Switching tabs without having a sidebar doesn't switch on the bookmarks toolbar. But when the sidebar is activated, it does. Also activating / deactivating the sidebar enables the bookmarks toolbar.
Umm... now I'm really confused... after testing even more, switching on the bookmark toolbar "by hand" and switching it off again, I can't reproduce the behaviour, which caused me reporting this bug (the behaviour was present for months on my system). Seems like my Konqueror config seems to have been screwed up somehow. (???)
I get the impression that this bug is related to bug 90521. After opening Konqueror with my file management profile (where there is a bookmarks toolbar enabled, because there I need it), I can reproduce the behaviour described in this bug report again.
I can't properly reproduce this bug because if I remove the bookmarks sidebar in konqueror on KDE4 (trunk r870274) it stays away for all the view profiles (filemanagement too). Is this by design?
Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
