Please make use from 'dvd+rw-booktype' command for changing booktype of DVD+R medias, so old DVD readers will think that burned DVD+R medias are DVD-ROMs.

Some of the old DVD readers don't properly recognize burned DVD+R, some of them are reading DVD+R slower than DVD-ROM.

Personally I must change booktype setting from root always when I want to burn sth. It is done by the:
dvd+rw-booktype -dvd-rom -unit+r $device (for example /dev/hdd)

More info can be found here: http://www.dvdplusrw.org/Article.asp?aid=42&hl=bitsetting and on growisofs website.

Oh, Nero on Windows changes booktype by default.
