Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux When choosing a directory that is mounted on a fusesmb (http://freshmeat.net/projects/fusesmb/) directory, amarok scans the collection, taking what seems to be an appropriate amount of time for the size of the collection. When the collection browser is clicked on, nothing shows up. I have also seen this on debian etch and have talked to others who have experienced similar behavior. I am using a postgres database, but can replicate the behavior with mysql and sql-lite. As a note, fusesmb is a network neighborhood like filesystem that makes use of the FUSE kernel module. I am not using any plugins. Steps to reproduce: 1) Install and configure fusesmb (apt-get, etc.) (behavior occurs on password protected and guest shares) 2) put some media on the share 3) create a collection, add the fusesmb folder to it 4) scan the collection 5) see that the collection is empty Expected behavior: @5) collection should contain the appropriate folders/files
Comment from a KDE bugsquad member: Amarok 1.4.x is in bugfix-only mode as development is focused on Amarok 2. Unfortunately your bug will very likely not get fixed, as the risk of regressions is too high and the Amarok developers do not have the resources for it. Thank you for your report though. Please don't hesitate to report new bugs should you have any problems with Amarok 2 once it is released.
as myriam has said, we aren't making changes to Amarok 1. Perhaps this will become a non issue with amarok2, but only time will tell
