Description Shriramana Sharma 2007-03-18 01:34:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
OS: Linux

The "Append & Play" entry in the Amarok context menu of audio files is shown as "Append _ Play". KDE/Qt thinks you want to underline the following character when you use a & in the text. The QShortcut class reference says you need to use && to get an actual ampersand.

Comment from a KDE bugsquad member:

Amarok 1.4.x is in bugfix-only mode as development is focused on Amarok 2. Unfortunately your bug will very likely not get fixed, as the risk of regressions is too high and the Amarok developers do not have the resources for it. Thank you for your report though. Please don't hesitate to report new bugs should you have any problems with Amarok 2 once it is released.
Comment 2 Shriramana Sharma 2008-06-16 01:53:12 UTC
The "risk of regressions" is "high" for just changing & in the source code (or probably just a desktop file?) to && ? This is preposterous!

The least developers can do is just look up the proper file for Amarok 2 and just tell me "OK don't worry there are two ampersands there". If I knew where to look, I would be a developer myself.

There is no append & play yet in Amarok 2. Only append.
So no worries there is 0 & there ;-)

This bug is no longer existing in Amarok 2 alpha 2. CLosing as fixed.
