Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux When trying to login at the following page, I get the "script...is causing KHTML to freeze" error. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/Universal/servlet/AccountAccess.Login?forwardTo=1 I can get the error by just typing "test" for the username and password, so an account is not required. I realize that this could be a Javascript error on their part, but it works from the other browsers and I'm pretty sure they don't want to hear about Konq issues. I thought I would report it in the hopes that one day konqueror will work on all websites that IE and Firefox work with.
KHTML pops a dialog with Abort/Continue, but the script finishes a short while after I've pressed the Continue button. The website shows a text that my login was invalid. So here it is not as bad as you describe.
The continue button seems to work sometimes and other times the page just sits there. If there is nothing that can be done, then you can close this. I only added this and another bug after a forum conversation where I said something like "Konqueror is my favorite browser, but too bad Konqueror doesn't work on many sites as well as Firefox" and someone said, "Well have you reported those sites?"
If this works OK with Firefox (i.e. faster) then I leave this one open for now.
Kubuntu 8.04 KDE 3.5.9 KDE 4.0.3 konqueror has very slight slow down on the website, however there is no "KHTML freeze" error message. the 'test' login account is no longer valid.
Hmm. Have you tried this with 4? Comparing with Iceweasel, it seems to be about the same, but tell me what you think. Heavy on the javascript here.
No recent response, so I'm closing this. But please reopen if you have more problems. Thanks!
