Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs OS: Linux I go to the Fox News website (http://www.foxnews.com) and click on the Video tab. The Fox Video Player comes up. This player relies on a combination of Flash Player and Java and it is difficult for me as a user to know which operates what, but I believe the scrollbar issue is related to Java. The Flash driven video plays fine, but the navigation scrollbar on the left side of the player is not functional. The scrollbar on the right side of the player works correctly. Both scrollbars work correctly with Firefox. I have meticulously removed all previous Flash Player software and have installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 9 from Adobe web site. I have also installed the latest versions of Sun and Blackdown Java. Neither one of those OR Kaffe resolve the scrollbar issue as I have successively changed the Java path in preferences to no avail. This is a major frustration for me, since Firefox also has a problem with this site in that it is unable to render the video stream with Flash (I've submitted a bug report to them as well). It does work with Mplayer running Windows Media, but I much prefer to use Adobe's Flash Player since it is native to Linux and works well when the browsers are working correctly. Thank you for your attention to this, George Mitchell george@chinilu.com
What scroll bar are you talking about? The Playlist one on the left? Not much to scroll there for me but that little range works.
Harri, I am having the same problem on three computers all running Mandriva. Apparently this is a problem related to Mandriva packages or library configurations. I tried to log into bugzilla, but was disallowed. Thanks, George Harri Porten wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
I can't get the video player to work on 3.5.9. I couldn't find any java though. Reportedly someone got it working on trunk (around r79900) when setting the user-agent to IE6 on XP. Someone else couldn't get it to launch though.
The bug is no more reproducible: the website has been changed. Please reopen this bug with a valid testcase. Thanks
