Version: 3.5.6 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu1~edgy1) Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.15-27-amd64-k8 This URL displays incorrectly: http://www.frontierhonda.com/onlinespecials/onlinenewcar.jsp If I can figure out how I'll attach the HTML file so you can see it. When the page first displays it looks correct. There is a scroll bar in the page and two small ads are displayed, each with a small scroll bar (what a horrible layout!). If you scroll down with the big scrollbar a third small ad scrolls into view with its own small scrollbar. If you watch carefully, you'll see that the small scrollbar starts erasing the page around the larger scrolling region before it even displays. After you scroll all the way down, then start scrolling back, the small scrollbar doesn't disappear as you would expect it to when it leaves the visible region. You get this mysterious small scrollbar moving around on the screen with no text displaying. I also notice, that if hide and show the konqueror window, the scroll bar does not redraw, until you scroll it into the visible area again. Then, the behavior is as described above.

I have a bug that is quite similar to this report. Although I can't duplicate it in the test url above, I can here: http://nigel.mcnie.name/articles/howto-linux-sanyo-k5.html There is a couple of <pre> elements with overflow:auto on that page. One of them has enough content to cause the element to have scroll bars. As you scroll down the page, you will see an area of background that is somehow different moving up the page, until inside the content window where it is a scroll bar. Scrolling up again does not hide the bar - instead it appears outside the element where it should be. Moving the scrollbar half off the bottom of the page and then back up again shows some interesting effects. Also note the interaction around the copyright message, especially when dragging slowly. This appears to be triggered where scroll bars are needed inside an element that already has scroll bars. Perhaps that information will allow a trivial test case to be created?
I'm still showing the bug with KDE 3.5.9, Kubuntu AMD64 using the original URL:http://www.frontierhonda.com/onlinespecials/onlinenewcar.jsp
Confirmed in 3.5.9 but it's fixed in trunk r814642.
