Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux When you type some string in the field text of "Filter this folder" of Konqueror, it is shown the folders and files which match with the string, but when you click in a folder, it is shown the files of the new folder and the files of the parent folder.
This only works when you open the folder in the same tab.
Which filter are you using? Tools->View filter from the menus, or the filter toolbar, or something else?
I use the filter textbox of the toolbar, the same which is for the searches in the internet mode of konqueror. I write something, and appears the folders and files which match with the word. When i click on a folder, appears the elements of the open folder and the parent folder. I'm using kde 3.5.6, and it happened in 3.5.5, too. In my case, of course. I don't know if this bug works to other people. Thanks for the answer.
This is happening with me too. I'm using kde 3.5.6 release 19.1 in suse 10.0.
We are two now :). And I use SuSE 10.0 too, so I don't know if it's a problem with KDE or the SuSE packages.
I can confirm that the filter option on the Konqueror toolbar does not work. I am Using Suse Linux 10.2 KDE 3.5.5 "release 45.2" 1. An attempt to use wild card filters does results in a blank screen output when a file the filter extension is applied I.E *.BIN. 2. The issue is with the wild card * 3. For example If I filter the results of a directory containing .jpg files and I filter by *.jpg == nil result == blank screen - HOWEVER If I just just a filter of 'JPG' the filter will present a display of ALL files with the extension of .JPG Note that the filter will NOT present any file that commences or has part file name with jpg in the string. 4. Other conventions such as wild cards such as '?' are also ignored. 5. Previously used filter options are not retained by the drop down filter selection. 6. 100% reproducible
Under Konqueror 4.2.2 I can filter for files '*searchstring*', but all folders are listed. It should also filter the folders.
can not reproduce with 4.6.3
