Version: 1.4.4 (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-10-generic Amarok apparently generates the Smart Genre playlists every scan, by adding to songs to them, creating new playlists as needed. However, it never removes old playlists without items. Thus, if you have a single item in a genre, then change the genre of that item, the original genre playlist won't be deleted on rescan. I think the solution is to delete all Genre playlists before rescanning.
Hmm, it looks like the old ones are removed when you restart Amarok. I still think it should happen immediately on rescan, but that works.
comment from KDE bugsquad member I can confirm this behaviour for 1.4.9.1. However I think it's a matter of policy. It's not checkable in Amarok2 trunk r820602 yet as it doesn't have the smart playlist feature yet.
I am sorry but this will not get fixed in Amarok 1.4 as we are focused on Amarok 2 now. Thank you for your report.
