Description Paul Betts 2007-01-22 23:54:40 UTC
Version: 1.4.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When subscribing to podcasts that have additional content (such as the language-learning FrenchPodClass, http://www.frenchpodclass.com/ that has vocab PDFs in the podcast), Amarok tries to play these files and throws errors.

The best idea would be to allow users to open in the default application, but a less obtrusive fix would be to not attempt to play files that aren't audio. I'm not sure what happens when you try to copy this podcast to an iPod, but I bet you end up with PDFs on the iPod as well which are just taking up space.

As of 1.4.9.1 Amarok still can't handle non-audio files. I wouldn't call it a bug though as it just tells you it can't open the file. Amarok2 trunk r820602 however crashes on trying to open a non-audio file in a podcast, so now it's a bug indeed :-)

I am sorry but this will not get fixed in Amarok 1.4 as we are focused on Amarok 2 now.
Please open a new report for the crash in Amarok 2 with a useful backtrace.

Thank you for your report.
