Description michael papet 2007-01-20 15:40:28 UTC
Version: 3.5.5 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 (4.0))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-3-686

Hi,

The following steps enable sets the konqueror window translucency to inactive.

With translucency enabled:
1. launch konqueror (not profile specific)
2. Don't do anything
3. Move window using top bar
3a. Resize window in lower right or left corner with mouse
3b. Maximize window using menu on left, not icons on right

Konqueror then goes "translucent" even though it is the active application. It does not return to a non-translucent state.

Does it happen only with konqueror or even with other kde apps?
Probably this is a kwin problem, not a konqueror one.

The compositing from KDE3 is no longer maintained, sorry. It is suggested to turn it off if consider the bug to be serious. As alternatives you can use compositing from KDE4 or Compiz as explained e.g. at http://www.kdedevelopers.org/node/3478 .
