Description Jacek Furmankiewicz 2007-01-08 14:52:58 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: x86_64
OS: Linux

Global shortcuts seem to work perfectly when Amarok is open.

But as soon as I minimize it to the panel, I cannot control it anymore without opening it up again. All the regular global shortcuts stop working if the Amarok window is not visible.

Can't reproduce at all
Comment 2 Bram Schoenmakers 2007-01-09 14:06:50 UTC
Only with Amarok?

Not sure, I only have Global Shortcuts defined in Amarok.

This only happens if I close (not minimize, to be more precise) Amarok, so it becomes just an icon in the desktop panel at the bottom (sorry, if I amusing the wrong terminology here, being a Linux newbie).

I have a shortcut to Hide/Show the player (mapped to Alt + Numeric Keypay "-") and that works perfectly always.

However, all my other shortcuts (Pause/Play, Next, Previous, Volume Up, Volume Down) work only if Amarok is actually open on the screen. If it's just minimized to the desktop panel in the bottom only the Hide/Show global shortcut works...so I cannot skip to the next track for example. I have to first invoke the shortcut to re-open the Amarok window, invoke the global shortcut to go to next track and then re-invoke the open/hide shortcut to put Amarok back into the desktop panel at the bottom.

I should maybe mention (if it makes any difference) I am on OpenSuse 10.2, 64-bit, Pentium Duo Core. I've upgraded the base libxine from Suse (worthless, can't play any format) to the one on the Packman repositories that can actually play MP3s.

Can't reproduce this in Amarok 2.

confirmed :-(
kde4 + amarok 1.4.10
