Description Achim Kruck 2006-12-23 20:30:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Hi! I cannot play music files with xmms including blank(s) in name by clicking on it in konqueror. I use opensuse 10.2, KDE 3.5.5 and xmms 1.2.10 (all versions included in the distribution). I tried some tests:

- files without blanks can be played.
- playlists without blanks in listed files can be played.
- files including blanks cannot be played.
- playlists including blanks in listed files cannot be played.
- all files (with or without blanks) can be played with xmms when xmms is called with commandline in a console.
- fresh saved (playable, without blanks) files in konqueror cannot be played. You have to copy them at least one time to somewhere else (e. g. another directory). Then they can be played.
- same xmms-, KDE-, music file-versions work fine with Suse 10.0 and Suse 10.1 without errors.
- same effects in krusader as in konqueror.
- no difference in behaviour between Suse version of xmms and the packman one.
- all files (with or without blanks) can be played in mplayer and kplayer out of konqueror.

regards, Achim

I'm able to play files with XMMS from konqueror (open with...).

Tested with 3.5.9 and 4 (dolphin_part).

Could you exactly explain how to reproduce this bug?

Closing due to no response to questions in previous comments. Please reopen if you can still reproduce this bug in a recent version of KDE.
