Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I set Firefox as my default Web Browser in "System Settings" - "Default Applications". Now I wish to occasionally browse with Konqueror, so I load it up from the K menu and enter a URL. The first page displays, but when ever I click a link it popups up a box saying: "Open "http://foo/?" Type: HTML Document [] Do not ask again [Save As..][Open with Firefox Web Browser'][X Cancel]" Could this be changed so it is possible to browse a site when I load Konqueror? It is really useful to have both browsers working on my system. Kind regards Jon
I confirm that. I guess it's like that because it actually is a desired behavior in File Management mode. So a fix would be to just turn this behavior (ie. respecting the "default browser" setting) off in Web Browsing mode.
This bug report clearly is a duplicate of several older bug reports (e.g. 87180). However, they all are marked as fixed althrough the problem never got fixed to my understanding. At it the problem exists with my configuration (Konqueror 3.5.6, Kubuntu Feisty). I hope this problem will finally be gone when dolphin replaceses Konqueror as file manager.
Just to wipe away the misunderstandings about Dolphin: > dolphin replaceses Konqueror Simply not true, you'll still be able to manage files with Konqueror.
