I can save Word documents to disk without any problems and open them from disk. Firefox opens the documents correctly. Cannot reproduce on konqueror 4. It is working right now :)
As the original reporter, I can no longer reproduce on Konqueror 3.5.9 (Kubuntu Hardy). I will close this.
