Version: 1.4.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux Following feature is available using the gui (drag'n'drop) but doesn't work using DCOP: In case the currently playing track is removed from the playlist and gets included into the playlist again, the playlist automatically focuses / highlights that track again. This functionality does work when using drag'n'drop from collection or "files"-tab to the playlist, but does not using "dcop amarok playlist addMedia ..."
This is working fine with version svn 605389.
Just checked it again with svn revision 605406 and it seems part of it is fixed. But I can still reproduce it in the following case: * insert via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist playMedia "~/music/album/01.ogg" * remove via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist removeCurrentTrack * insert parent directory: dcop amarok playlist addMedia "~/music/album/"
OK, I've tried your steps with different files (files in the collection and files not in the collection), different locations on my harddisk and different description of the home dir ($HOME, /home/.../, ~/, though bash should expand all). In all cases the currently played track was highlighted and got focus. So I have no clue what could be the problem...
Okay, i checked it again (revision 611319). "Part of it is fixed" means to me: I can't reproduce it in a more general form anymore. Since it still occurs on my script (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=48961 - doing append album), I looked into it a little deeper: The problem seems to be that I'm inserting files with a path like /home/nico/./music/album/01.ogg because I'm extracting and recomposing the path as it is saved inside the sqlite-database. So could you (or someone else) please try to reproduce it again in the following manner: * start with an empty playlist * insert via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist playMedia "/home/nico/./music/album/01.ogg" * remove via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist removeCurrentTrack * insert parent directory: dcop amarok playlist addMedia "/home/nico/music/album/"
comment from KDE bugsquad member I can still reproduce this bug in 1.4.9.1 with the following procedure: * start with an empty playlist * insert via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist playMedia "/home/lemma/./myfolder/myfile.mp3" * remove via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist removeCurrentTrack * insert via DCOP: dcop amarok playlist addMedia "/home/lemma/myfolder/myfile.mp3" (Please note the extra "." in the first call). Amarok doesn't seem to figure it's the same file and so doesn't highlight the track (while it's currently playing). If I use the same filename on both files the track gets highlighted as expected. I can't test this using Amarok 2 because the dbus interface is currently not done. This bug is however unlikely to be fixed in 1.4.x as the developers are currently concentrating on Amarok 2 and only bugfixes with a low risk of causing regressions are being backported.
Correct me if I am wrong but this should be close becouse 1.4 branch of amarok is not maintained any more?
Yes indeed, Jonas. Amarok 1.x is no longer maintained, so I'm closing this report.
