Description Andrew 2006-11-08 07:39:24 UTC
Version: 3.4.3 (using KDE 3.4.3, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.3-0ubuntu2.1 )
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.12-10-amd64-k8

When View -> "Folder Icons Reflect Contents" is enabled, navigating files seems to work OK.

Then if I navigate to /usr/share/doc, it will always crash as soon as I try to click any folder to see the contents. (More specifically it causes the window to stop responding, and KWin gives its warning yes/no)

This crash seems to always be averted if I disable "Folder Icons Reflect Contents". I've ran gdb on it but it is unable to produce a stack trace in the non-debug (normal) version from the Ubuntu package...

gdb konqueror

-I don't think plugins affects anything in the file browser, but jkavaappletviewer.so is present in my about:plugins

-Also when it does crash it freezes without apparant CPU usage, the window is movable but will not refresh, and it's closable with the KWin popup that comes up when I try to close it. That's all
Comment 1 Philip Rodrigues 2006-11-09 19:26:54 UTC
When konqueror freezes, try killing it with "kill -SEGV <pid-of-konq>". If that gets you a crash dialog, please paste the backtrace here.

Comment 4 Médéric Boquien 2008-05-18 19:56:39 UTC
Thank you for the bug report. Apparently the "Folder Icons Reflect Contents" option is no longer present in KDE SVN trunk (r809157).
Comment 5 FiNeX 2009-08-29 16:25:15 UTC
I confirm. It has been dropped. Moreoever konqueror in KDE 3 is no more developed.
