Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux If you create a directory, for example: "Test" and then go Back to its parent directory, delete "Test" and then go Forward, it will append "/Test" to the directory name and take you to an empty directory before popping up an error message that the folder does not exist. Where Back and Forward are any means (clicking on the button/key combination) to use the history feature. However, if you append "/Test" to the parent directory manually, it will pop up the error without taking you to an empty directory. This method is preferred. It makes much more sense to keep showing the contents of the parent directory. I believe this change will make it easier to choose a different directory in the parent directory (after user realises the one in forward does not exist, this is most likely) and it is also consistent with the other methods.
Seems sensible to me. 3.5.5 debian.
KDE 3 is no longer maintained and in KDE 4 the file management is handled by Dolphin and there are similar bug reports like this one against it.
